All of my kids love the water....but not all of them love it at first. Noah and Nate eagerly waited for the pool to be filled with water. And although it was beyond freezing water directly from the hose ....it did not deter them for a moment. Without hesitation they were in the water splashing and swimming around.....blue lips and all.
Then there is Lauren. She would get up on the ladder, and as soon as one splash of ice cold water would hit her skin, she would climb back down and say, "I'm done." But day after day of watching her brothers having a blast, she got up the courage to really get in this time. And of course Noah was eager to show her what to do. He likes teaching others what he knows. This especially comes in handy when I am doing school with Nate and then Noah will sit down with "The Littles" and becomes the teacher....which he loves.
I really savor the moments when my lovies are getting along and loving on one another. I was looking through my blog photos recently and wanted to clarify the fact that even though all of the photos I show are of my kids being affectionate and loving with one another, that they aren't like that all of the time. I just tend not to take pictures when they aren't getting along. We are a real family and each day poses it's challenges I can assure you.....but overall I am blessed and very thankful that my kids do love each other and get along as well as they do considering that they are together all. of. the. time.
Hope you enjoy these photos of a big brother loving on his little sister, easing her fear of getting into the water for the first time this summer. After the first few minutes she was having a great time. Of course every time she is in the pool with her brothers she is always telling them to "Stop Splashing!".....we have to remind her, that she is indeed in a pool, and that she is going to get wet!
